Where we are ...

Cadwalader's have shops in all types of locations from Portmeirion Village, with its respect for its heritage and local culture, to Pwllheli, in a traditional tourist High Street.

From Cardiff Bay, with a contemporary outlook yet highly sensitive to its history and status as a vibrant capital city, to Llandudno, with proud Victorian verandas and controlled by the Mostyn Estates. From Trentham, a thrusting innovative development to Criccieth, the quintessential seaside resort.

As a Company we see each location as a challenge to respect the local needs, meet landlords obligations and enhance the destination experience. Perhaps we can also be challenging for what we believe is for the general good, not just Cadwalader's.

What we are ...

Cadwalader's believes first and foremost that we are only part of the Leisure Experience.

The day out in the quirky Portmeirion, the stroll around the glorious park, gardens and lake at Trentham. The topping off after a day on the beach at Pwllheli, or a breather and relaxation after the exhilaration of walking the mountains around Betws y Coed. The challenge to meet the needs of such a diverse range of customers helps us be both sympathetic and innovative.

Being environmentally friendly ...

Our latest developments have opened our eyes to managing our resources effectively.

We will look to reclaim and recycle: heat from the refrigeration into hot water, simple timers on lighting systems, researching edible containers rather than generating litter and even our factory trade waste is recycled.

Improving product standards ...

As well as staff training improving product standards needs persistence, research, imagination and often partnerships with suppliers.

We have a development section which is focussed so we have the right product, the correct equipment, the necessary training support, the least open to error process and then the best serving technique. This should apply to all our products and we are working our way through them.

Last year we successfully altered the way we scooped (now isn’t that sad), which improved presentation, product quality, speed of service, portion control, staff safety and most importantly our staff were even prouder of out core product.

We are currently evaluating our Chocolate Drinks.

Coffee was also a problem so we introduced the Cadwalader's Barista of the Year Championship. Wow, what a difference that made. We have sent at least 4 staff for the last 6 years to be judges in the British Ice Cream Competitions, so we know the competition and quality standards.

Food Standards ...

With new legislation being introduced we must keep abreast of our responsibilities.

Food safety is managed by our comprehensive manuals whilst checks, using an independent accredited agency, are made on the microbio quality of our food products.
This is so key we monitor our performance by standing item at all our Directors’ Meetings.
