Mermaid Quay Opening with The Olympic Torch
Cadwaladers Ice-cream café’s new and improved Mermaid Quay store officially re-opens on Saturday May the 26th at 6am.
Located on the pier overlooking Cardiff Bay, the reopening coincides with the Olympic flame torchbearer running past the picturesque stores' front door.
Keren Feeney, Operation's Manager for Cadwaladers, commented ‘We’re all very excited. It’s a big day for us and what better way to celebrate the opening than holding our famous ice cream cones aloft as the torch bearer runs past.”
With work on the store starting almost a year ago, the re-opening is a welcome addition to the Bay.
“We’ve always wanted to make the absolute most of our unique pier location, so we decided to rebuild the shop from the bottom up.” Keren further commented. “It’s bigger on both the inside and out, with seating designed to utilise the spectacular water views. We’re also planning “after hours” entertainment, including jazz evenings, to really make the most of it”
